Calling all artists: It's our second annual community card design contest!
Want to help make our next card? Rowan County has a lot to celebrate, but we're interested in what's most important to you. In addition to our existing library building, bookworm, butterfly, and Cave Run Lake cards, we're adding a fifth that's created by our community! Show us what matters by sharing your art of Morehead, Appalachia, local landmarks, regional stories, legends, and tall tales, or whatever else is close to your heart.
This contest is open to library cardholders of all ages (limit one [1] entry per person, 2024 winners not eligible to enter). Got an active library account? Then that's all you need! Submissions will be accepted at our front circulation desk (for physical artwork) or at the email listed on this page (for digital artwork) from May 5 through July 30.
Library staff will select the top 5 finalists, which will be made available for public vote! From those finalists, our community will select the ultimate winner in a poll, and the winning artwork will be announced as soon as possible and printed on our newest library card!
Please be sure to read the full contest rules and details in the entry form that's viewable and downloadable on this page! Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form. If you can't access or print the entry form on your own, just ask for a copy at our front desk and we'll be happy to provide you with one.
