Purpose of Meeting
Welcome to the Morehead PLACE Assessment Workshop! Join us for a collaborative in-person community and economic development workshop aimed at building a stronger, more vibrant and resilient Morehead. This workshop will lead participants through a guided discussion of how the 9 PLACE Principles are showing up in the city currently and how they can be further broadened through innovative and approachable solutions. The PLACE Principles embody a flexible, adaptive, and community-centric approach, providing a roadmap for equitable and sustainable community development in the face of evolving challenges.
Based on what we hear from the community upon discussion of each principle, we'll provide actionable short-, mid-, and long-term implementation recommendations that can serve as a guide for community action planning in the coming years. The recommendations will be tailored to meet the expressed needs of Morehead residents, not just provide "one size fits all" solutions.
The workshop is free for everyone, and is particularly geared toward folks who have some expertise or decision making power in any of the focus areas of the PLACE Principles, like housing, infrastructure, government, economic development, and more. However, any residents who are interested in making a positive difference for the future of their community are welcome to attend. Your input and participation is invaluable, so we hope to see you there!
