Because it's very possible that some of our friends and neighbors (including over 2200 Rowan County families) may soon experience various levels of food insecurity, we're sharing resources that can help. We've made a list here of places you can go and events you can attend if you or your family are affected; we'll be updating this list whenever possible as we find out about new ways our community is supporting one another.
Please note: Time-sensitive programs and events are placed first on the list below, in order to make them easier to find. If you're unsure whether an item will be repeated or is still accessible, please contact the listed organization(s) or individual(s) directly! It's possible that some dates or times may change on short notice or that it may take us a few hours or overnight to update this page, so the best and most up-to-date source of information is always the host's website or social media.
Feed the Fine
As part of the Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative, the Morehead police department is accepting donations of the meal kits listed above as payment for a $30.00USD parking ticket. To pay for a ticket with a donated meal kit, please bring all the listed items for that meal to the police department at 309 W Main St, Morehead from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
God's Pantry food bank

Anyone with questions or who wants to volunteer or donate can find more information on their website, call (606) 784-5555, or visit the pantry at 100 Carolyn Ingram Dr, Morehead.
Other local food pantries
Below is a list of locations in Rowan County where you can find "tiny pantries" (kind of like a Little Free Library, but for food). Please note that not all of these pantries may be equally stocked or available at all times, as donations and distribution within different areas can vary a lot.
Anyone with questions or who wants to donate to a tiny pantry should contact the organization or business at which that pantry is located.
