Today, we're excited to bring y'all our newest service: The Library of Things! This collection includes everything from toys and technology to power tools, home improvement items, bakeware, craft kits—the list goes on, and it will only keep expanding with time.
LoT items are available to adult patrons starting today; all you need is your library card and ID to start borrowing! Explore the debut catalog on our dedicated Library of Things page, and if you have ideas for things we could add, let us know. We've put a suggestion box in the LoT room, which is located where the Friends' Bookstore was previously, between the Kentucky Room and our sensory room.
And guess what? We've already had our very first LoT patron! Thanks to Rowan (and her mom) for checking out the first-ever item from our Library of Things: One of our new telescope kits! This is just the beginning of something we hope will prove useful for y'all as you test out new hobbies, learn new skills, work on that big project, or whatever. With our LoT, you'll be able to try before you buy, take a chance on something without getting too deeply invested, and contribute to our sustainability initiative! Everybody wins (but especially you).
