The Rowan County Public Library is aware of the concerns raised regarding recent social media posts made by a library employee that were extremely insensitive. A number of individuals have reached out to the library to express concerns. We want to assure our patrons, staff, and community that we take these issues very seriously.
The views expressed in any individual’s social media posts are their own personal views and do not represent the values or positions of the Rowan County Public Library. Our mission is to maintain a safe, professional, and inviting environment for all who work at and visit our facilities.
We are actively working through the appropriate channels to review this matter in accordance with established policies and procedures. We appreciate our staff and the community’s patience and understanding as we work carefully to address this situation.
