July's book is Mudbound by Hillary Jordan: A story of prejudice in 1940s Mississippi, following city-bred Laura McAllan as she struggles to raise her children on her husband's delta farm. Along with two young men who come to work on their land, she is caught up in a moving tragedy born out of both love and hate.
